Top 100 Award for flagship Bell B50D
After re-entering the North American market just over a year ago, Bell Equipment is already making its mark, scooping the Construction Equipment magazine's Top 100 Award for its B50D Articulated Dump Truck, which will be on display at CONEXPO in March.
The Top 100 Products Award program gives special attention to the most significant new products announced each year and considers several hundred product introductions during the adjudication process. According to Rod Sutton, Editorial Director of Construction Equipment, the selections are made independently by editors of the magazine, drawing upon their experience with equipment technology and the marketplace.
Commenting on the award, Managing Director of Bell Equipment North America, Neville Paynter says that although the B50D is not a new product for Bell Equipment - having been first introduced elsewhere in the world in 2004 - it is the first time the truck has been available in North America.
"We are thrilled that Bell Equipment has been recognized for our investment into research and development and for our strides in ADT innovation. It is fortuitous that we have been able to bring our B50D to North America at this time when the market is trending towards moving more with less and larger ADTs are becoming more popular.
"It has been gratifying to see the interest in our B50D, which delivers greater productivity and efficiencies and we look forward to growing the interest in Bell ADTs in 2014 when we introduce our small E-series trucks to North America."
Bell Equipment Product Marketing Manager for Bell ADTs, Llewellyn Roux, says: "The B50 is the world's first and only 50-ton production ADT and draws from the vast experience Bell Equipment has in the development and manufacture of ADTs. Through substantial investments in research and development, and employing industry leading technology, Bell has pushed the envelope yet again to deliver on the market demands to move more material for less."
The B50 is borne through an evolutionary approach, incorporating the design philosophy carried throughout the entire range of legendary Bell trucks. This has proven to be a winning formula giving Bell a competitive advantage of being a true truck specialist.
"The B50D features high power to weight ratios, high gradeability, large payloads, excellent retarding and stopping power, and operator friendly cabs, so operators are able to produce faster cycle times, delivering more material throughout the longest shifts," says Roux.
The Bell B50D has been tried and tested in the toughest mining and quarry applications in the harshest environments in Africa, Australia and Russia.
